FOUNDER

Jarod Kruse

Jarod Kruse is the founder of MNFOE (Minnesota Fire, OSHA, and Emergency Planning).   Jarod is licensed by the state of Minnesota as a professional firefighter, has state certifications in hazardous materials, HMRTI (Hazardous Materials Response and Training Institute) certified instructor, rope /confined space rescue technician and is a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician.

He is also an instructor for Hennepin Technical College in emergency response, along with industrial safety and holds a degree in Fire Science.

In addition to these experiences, he also has a very strong background in safety, and OSHA knowledge.

He has held positions in safety, industrial and municipal emergency response which include General Mills, United Parcel Service, and Flint Hills Resources – Pine Bend Refinery where he served as fire captain and incident command at the nation’s 10th largest oil refinery. He has also developed a safety program for an onsite contractor at the St Paul Park Refinery.

  • Emergency Response Background since 2002

    • Multiple departments in varying positions over the course of career.

    • Fire suppression, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, and various other rescue operations.

    • Instructor for Scott County Fire Recruit Class -- including practical fire, hazmat, and classroom training.

    • Facilitator of special departmental training.

  • Training Instructor for Hennepin Technical College - Customized Fire and Industrial Safety Department (Current)

    • Instruct practical and hands on safety and environmental response to corporate clients.

    • Deliver industrial safety to corporate clients per OSHA 1910, 1926 and NFPA standards.

    • Specialized instructor for chemicals/hazardous materials safe operation.

    • Instruct both classroom settings as well as practical hands-on application from the industrial / corporate industries as well as municipal organizations.

    • Lead instructor for confined space program with practical / hands on training.

    • Well versed in Emergency Planning for Industry.

  • 10 years - Private Industry Fire Captain, Safety Officer, Chemical Planner/Logistics

    • Command of Emergency Response - including medicals, fires, hazmat, confined space and rope / technical rescue in the nations tenth largest oil refinery.

    • Ran the department of medical response equipment mechanical integrity program and process unit emergency response preplans.

    • General plant safety; including hot work permitting, confined space permitting / preplans, safe work practices, job hazard analysis, and hazard reduction.

    • Improve emergency response protocols and training for safer and more organized response of the crews.
